Potters Bar Cycling Club

The schedule

When we ride.

We meet at the end of Hawkshead Road, opposite Little Heath Church. Roll-out is on the dot — be there 5 minutes early.

Every week, all year

Sunday club ride.

The Sunday club ride is the heartbeat of PBCC. It runs every week of the year, whatever the weather.

Roll-out is 7:00am through the summer so we're back before the day gets going. As the clocks change and the mornings get darker, we push the start later through autumn and winter — check with us before your first ride for the current time.

Routes are 40–80km at a steady club pace, with a café stop somewhere in the middle. Nobody gets dropped.

The rest of the week

Midweek and evening rides — informal, by arrangement.

Most of the year

Midweek day rides

A lot of our members ride midweek during the day for much of the year — usually a steadier pace with a café stop. These are arranged informally via our members' Spond group and WhatsApp, and the day changes week to week depending on who's free and what the weather's doing.

Summer months

Summer evening rides

Once the evenings are light, we add evening rides after work — a brisker loop around the lanes, finishing up before sunset. These run through the lighter months only, and are organised on the members' WhatsApp group.

Want in on midweek or evening rides? Sign up to the club and you'll get access to the members' WhatsApp group where rides get arranged day-to-day.

Meet point

End of Hawkshead Road.

Opposite Little Heath Church. There's space to gather safely off the road. Arrive 5 minutes early — we roll out on the dot.
